​SapioSoul Publishing thrives on connecting passion and intellect through music and entertainment. We accept melodies and lyrics of all genres focusing on love, romance and intellectual stimulation.
Founded by Austin, TX native LaWanda Macik (mah-sik), she began developing her songwriting skills while studying the lyrical techniques of award winning songwriters Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Mariah Carey, Diane Warren and Jon B. In 1996 at the age of 17, she got her first introduction into the music industry when she became the hostess of Austin Public Access’ “Magic Video,” and remained on the show for 17 collective years. While co-hosting the show, she has interviewed some of the biggest names in music such as BlackStreet, 2 Live Crew and Jon B.
In 2003, she became a member of ASCAP as a writer and in 2008 as a publisher. The internet has allowed her to connect with some of the most talented composers from all over the United States and in Europe. In 2018, she collaborated with English music composer, Stuart Moore for her written single, “Rock My Body” for artist Ava Lemert's "Ava’s Groove" LP, which was considered for a GRAMMY in 2019 for Best R&B Album.
